Tales from the Cabin 28. and 29. November 2022

It was kind of a snap decision to stay in Brautarlækur this weekend. It had been a whole month since we stayed there the last time so we felt that it was at least time to check if everything was okay. The weather was beautiful on Saturday. Bright and calm. The temperature was about zero degrees. When we lay down to rest that night, the northern lights danced in the sky. On the way up the valley, we saw that snow had begun to settle in Sátudalnum, the valley by the mountains around the mountain Baula. Lower down the ground is still free of snow.
We are starting to prepare for the upcoming construction of the extension of the house and renovations of the old house. The Architectural firm, Kvarði is drawing the house. The plan is to start the job next spring. We hope that the drawings will be ready in time. Kristján, borrowed a truck at work to transport a pile of timber he got for free. Maby we can use it to build work platforms. Otherwise, the trip was nothing more than relaxing over soccer. The World Cup is going on in Qatar these days.
