Vatnskot, Öfugsnáði og Nes and Nautatangi

I drove my wife to work and then I drove east to Lake Thingvallavatn. This time I decided to explore better few locations on the north bank. These locations are Vatnskot, Öfugsnáði and Nes and Nautatangi. I always fish in the national park, mainly on the east bank of the lake. Therefore I know the fishing spots there better than the ones on the north bank. The weather forecast said the weather would be calm so I expected to easily see how the bottom of those fishing locations is.

Vatnskot

When I parked the car in Vatnskot there were many people there. The tourists were packing their tents and leaving. When I came to the lake one fisherman was fishing in the spot which is considered the best. He had already landed one char and I could see it was a big one. If I recall this was the second time I try to fish in this location. The first time I did get one char a bit further to the east. Now nothing happened and it looked like the other fisherman wasn´t doing any better.

Next, I tried Öfugsnáða. There was also one fisherman there but he left when I came. I did not see that he had caught anything. I think I have tried fishing in Öfugsnáði two times before but I did not have any luck then. It was the same this time. Still Öfugsnáði is considered a good fishing spot.

Nes and Nautatangi

The third location I tried was Nes and Nautatangi. Twice I have tried to fish there before. The first time my wife caught one char on a spinner. This looks like a great location and I believe I will explore it better. Hopefully in August, because I´m told the char visits the spot late in the summer.
